Frequently asked questions
CCA uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) / School of Tomorrow curriculum for core academic subjects. ACE is a Biblically-based, individualized learning system that allows students to work at their own pace while mastering essential academic skills.
Unlike a traditional classroom where every student is expected to learn the same material at the same time, ACE begins with diagnostic testing to identify each student's current academic level. Students are then placed in curriculum that meets them where they are, helping fill learning gaps while allowing them to progress as they demonstrate mastery.
Students work through self-instructional workbooks called PACEs in subjects such as Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and Literature. Teachers provide individual guidance, tutoring, encouragement, and accountability throughout the learning process.
In addition to ACE curriculum, students participate in group activities, writing instruction, science experiments, art projects, music, physical education, and other enrichment opportunities designed to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
We have found that this approach works especially well for students who need individualized attention, have fallen behind, need additional academic challenge, or simply thrive in a smaller, more flexible learning environment.
At CCA, students are not grouped solely by age or grade level for their core academics. Instead, each student begins with diagnostic testing to identify their current academic strengths and any learning gaps that may exist.
Based on those results, students are placed in curriculum at the level where they can be successful and continue making progress. This means a student may be working above grade level in one subject and below grade level in another—and that's okay! Our goal is mastery, not simply moving students through material based on their age.
Students work through their lessons at a pace that matches their abilities while receiving one-on-one support, tutoring, encouragement, and accountability from teachers. As students demonstrate mastery of concepts, they move forward. If they need extra help, we can slow down, provide additional instruction, and ensure they have a solid foundation before advancing.
This individualized approach allows students to grow academically with confidence, reduces frustration, fills learning gaps, and helps each child reach his or her full potential.
